Luz Elena Rivers is a Colombian-born woman business owner, radio and television host, and founder of Rivers for Health nonprofit organization that encourages sponsors to provide donations and financial contributions for medical services, social services, health fairs, educational programs (promote early childhood literacy in children) and educational scholarships. Luz Elena is La Voz de Apoyo, the Voice of Support, for the Hispanic community, reporting from her radio and TV shows to Hispanics on issues that matter to them.
Luz Elena is the public relations director for Hispanic Women in Leadership, a member of the Texas Hispanic Council on Aging, and co-founder of Amera Solutions a Medical Coordination + Transportation agency with headquarters in Houston, TX. She has collaborated on confronting issues with the YMCA, the City of Houston Department of Health, Neighborhood Centers, Inc., NFL, Houston Texans, American Cancer Society, and El Centro de Corazon, which connects low-income families and individuals in Houston to opportunities and services so they can live better quality lives. Luz Elena is a member of the National Hispanic Professional Organization/Leadership Institute, and she has spoken at Fox 26 Channel and emcees for a number of community events, like “Vive tu Vida,” and “Crucial Catch Day” and area high schools.
With her Rivers for Health Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, Luz Elena helps promote, support, and develop community health services and educational programs that benefit the community. The mission of the Rivers for Health Foundation is to offer a solution and hope to the community without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious belief, class or political view, and to encourage philanthropic engagement with the community by accepting sponsor donations that funds health fairs and social programs.
The objective of our radio program, La Voz de Apoyo / The Voice of Support is to educate and motivate our listeners to live a healthier life, the best life they can. We transmit joy over the airways, and our listeners learn the basics of a health, satisfactory life. We talk with experts and professionals on topics that matter to the Hispanic community, like social services, healthy living, law topics, and more.
